Rajkumar Santoshi's KHAKEE

By Dennis D. McDonald

Halfway through I thought about stopping but I’ve decided to give this movie another chance after  reading the Netflix reviews.

The story: a terrorist is being transported by a small police convoy from rural India to Mumbai for trial. Amitabh Bachchan plays the police captain in charge with great gravitas as the convoy makes its way through various natural and man-made obstacles. Musical interludes so far have been disappointing and unrelated to the story, but I shall keep an open mind.

Ajay Devgan, normally one of my favorites actors, is totally wasted in his role as the sunglasses-clad terrorist mastermind. Aishwarya Rai is uninspiring so far but that may change later in the film.

More later.
