Breck Eisner's SAHARA

This is a good, but not great, popcorn movie. A quick review:

  • Loud, dumb, too long, and boring in spots.
  • Poorly edited action sequences.
  • Unappealing characters.
  • Stereotypical Americans, Europeans, and Africans.
  • Bizarre mix of humor, fun, and sadistic cruelty.
  • Nice color photography.
  • Great opening sequence with a Conferederate Ironclad in a night-time attack.
