Gore Verbinski’s “Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die”

Movie review by Dennis D. McDonald

This movie is a mess. Strong casting choices are undermined by a derivative plot, uneven editing, disjointed storytelling, murky photography, and uninspired anti-AI satire.

Maybe that’s the point: as a society our approach to the challenges of this modern world is disjointed and scattershot.

Meanwhile, I found the serious themes seemingly being addressed here were buried by jokey dialog and constant forced silliness.

My recommendation: instead of this film, curl up with a decent SF novel like Philip K. Dick’s “Ubik.”
