The SoftPMO Project Management Toolkit was developed by Michael Kaplan, PMP to provide practical support in planning and managing projects to both first time and experienced project managers.
What’s my interest in the Toolkit?
I’m helping Michael develop training, consulting, and support services around the Toolkit. These include licensed access to the Toolkit’s Guidebook and Template components, training users in adoption of improved project management processes, and helping clients establish organizational and governance processes to put the Toolkit’s project management processes to work.
What does the SoftPMO Project Management Toolkit do?
Based on the SoftPMO Project Management Process Model, the SoftPMO Project Management Toolkit helps both first-time and experienced project managers accelerate and improve their project planning, project management, and team collaboration efforts. Click or tap for larger image.The SoftPMO Project Management Guidebook is a practical guide in plain English that walks the user through a complete sequence of project steps from start to finish and explains the important issues and decisions that need to be addressed along the way. A sample Guidebook page is shown at the right.
The SoftPMO Process Templates are fill-in-the-blank structured documents that enable the project manager to document and share information about 40+ key project management processes.
Templates are divided into two groups, Basic and Advanced. A sample Template page is shown at the left.

The Advanced templates are models for documenting and communicating project management processes that are especially relevant to policy, governance, and overseeing multiple projects.
